A surreal story

To outsiders, the Regener-Eyes story beggars belief.

When a company makes and sells a prescription drug, it has to be approved. Drug approval involves conducting a series of clinical trials under FDA oversight in order to prove that the drug is safe, and works. This process takes some years and costs millions of dollars.

This company didn’t want to do that. They just wanted to bottle up their product and sell it. That can be done, of course, on a small scale - there is plenty of snake oil on the market to prove it. But this company was ambitious. They didn’t want to just sell to gullible consumers. They wanted doctors to back them. …….
